I have attended several of the All Cal Meets, but have opted out this year. Too far to travel for a two day meet.

This may become a problem with so many of the smaller meets no longer interesting enough to make the long trip.

Hi Sal,

I'm going. According to the registration, it's a 4 day meet. May 20-23. Altho Sunday is usually just coffee and donuts and "good-byes" in the morning.

Santa Rosa / Rohnert Park is a beautiful area in Sonoma County. Lots of neat places to tour.

Bill.

Sorry that you are not going Ray. Yes it is a long haul for me too. I am coming from the central coast of Ca. I will be hauling my 31 on a trailer for the first two hundred miles and then caravaning with the San Jose club that I belong to for the last 150 miles. Now that is if I get that front axel changed in time. It should come this week so I should be OK.

Sabrina and I are driving our '64 up for the meet. We are going with two other members from our Region. We are all driving our cars up. One of the cars traveling with us is a '65 Impala and the other is a '70 Nova. We are looking forward to the trip and seeing everyone. We hope to arrive on the 20th around 4pm or so.

See those of you attending at the meet!

Late Breaking News. I just sent in my registration for the Meet too!!! This will be my first All Cal event.

I will drive my '66 plastic Chevy. Also traveling with three other diehards from the Pacifid Northwest - Dick Olson, Jim Farris, and Bob Helgeson. We will depart here on Wednesday and arrive in time for ice cream on Thursday.

Sal, I'm not aware of anybody (other than Mrs. Fuller and me in one car) from Columbia River Region going. If there is anybody else, I guess they're keeping it a secret from me. Maybe my 51 Chev is too slow for them.

Jim, When is your group driving up? I am trailering my 31 to San Jose on the 19th and then caravaning up to the All-Cal with the SJ region on the 20th. We will be going mostly on back roads because of the older cars. See you their. carbana

Right now, my group (4 cars) is departing Seattle Wed morning early. Staying at Grants Pass or Medford or Ashland.

Then will arrive at AllCal location in time for ice cream on Thursday evening. beermugs

Bill B,

Good to hear Kosche is going also. I love that little black coupe with the pipes.

We hope to get going a little before you get to PDX. I'd like to get down by Redding or Anderson Wed. Makes for a shorter run into the Santa Rosa area on Thursday.

Why don't you call me when you're about at Vanc, WA. Just to see where everybody is....

We are planning on leaving about 5:00 am on Thursday from Orange County. If all goes as planned, we will stop for breakfast just North of the grapevine (South of Bakersfield) about 6:30 am or so. Depending on how it goes, we hope to be in Santa Rosa by about 3:30 pm or so.

Can someone publish the list of events for the meet? I'm trying to arrange my schedule so that I can attend at least part of the event. Thank you.

Last year I won the play-off trophy [so who cares that it was the 4th flight] wearing my VCCA hat and this year I have my son-in-law and grandson alternating as my best ball partner. To improve our chances I'll need 2 more hats. How much do I have to send you? thanku

Looks like it missed it this year; seems like it wouldn't have been too big a hassle for someone to list the activities on our website. Would have liked to have had my old '33 out for a spin.

Ron,

You must have missed Sal's post about your original question. Sal's post was about 8-9 posts back.

Anyway, Sal gave you a name and phone number and email address about your questions.

Maybe you didn't see Sal's helpful suggestion(s). Or, who knows what happened....

Sabrina and I got back safe and sound. We really enjoyed the meet and look forward to seeing everyone again in San Diego in 2012! Thank you to eveyone at the Redwood Empire Region for one spectacular event!! The hours of work you guys put into making this All-Cal a top-notch meet was very evident!! Everything couldn't have been nicer.

I hope everyone else gets home safe and sound too! I can't wait to hear the varous tales about everyone's time at the meet.

Ok, I am off to get some shut-eye!

We got back to San Jose at about 3:30PM on Sunday. Logged almost 500 hundred miles for the entire trip, to and from San Jose. Had a great time and how do these guys find back roads like the ones we were on? A great turn out of sixty cars. One of our San Jose Region guys had transmission problems and had to flatbed it home. :( Thanks to the Redwood Empire Region for hosting this event. yay beermugs

We got back to Portland, Or Tues. The "new" little red wagon performed well over 1635 miles.

The meet/tour was great. The Redwood Empire Region did a great job of hosting the meet, setting up tours, arranging the Sat eve banquet and the calorie laden "ice cream social" on Thurs eve.

Surprisinly the weather was chilly; but nobody can control that. Nonetheless, 20* below average makes for chilly barely 60* days. Compare that to two yrs ago in Morgan Hill (not far from Rohernt Park) when it was 20* above average in the 100's!! Amazing....

Congrats to Walt and Herb and all in the Redwood Empire!

Be sure to check out Kaydene O'Day's photos in the other thread...."VCCA Tour Pictures." https://vccachat.org/ubbthreads.php/topics/174418/Re_VCCA_tour_pictures#Post174418

Mrs Fuller makes another good photographer on that tour.
Is that your wagon with the flat bottomed tyre?

Tony,

That wagon with the "flat bottom tyre" (the burgendy colored one) is
Tom Meleo's 1947 Fleetmaster woodie wagon. Ours is the red 51....

Mrs. Fuller isn't as skillful with the camera as Mrs. O'Day. Nonetheless,
fun to see more pictures of nice, old Chevy's. Thnx again to BB for
his help posting them!

Ok on the "flat bottomed tyre" but I cannot agree on the camera skills though.
I just looked at 1931Sal's photos and consider all 3 sets to be of equal high quality. When all the others post their photos we will have the full tour.
