So I am currently working on a 1958 Chevrolet Apache with a 283 engine and 3 Speed transmission. I started cleaning all the grease and dirt off the throughout bearing fork and discovered a bronze color paint.
Is this correct and original, if not what color should it be?

Every original fork I had ever saw on a passenger car was natural (silver) and had overspray engine color from the factory on it. Hope this helps John
