Does anybody know if a 71 Chevelle 350 w/air came with a 2 line or a 3 line fuel pump. In the books it says all with 2 line(40987) & all with 3 line(41217).

My 72 Monte Carlo 350 has the 3 line pump,look for the 1/4 inch return line running along the 3/8 supply line.

My '72 Chevelle has a two line pump. Also all my '70-'72 Monte Carlos (unfortunately have sold all of them) had two line pumps. Maybe the three line pumps were Left Coast. My '72 Blazer also has a two line pump. All had or have AC.

When I look back at the parts book I recall the general confusion back in the early '70's as to what fuel pump was required on a V-8. Generally speaking a 2 Bbl. engine had no return line and the 4 Bbl did. Same with air but not always.
One way to check on an original car is to look at the gas gauge sending unit and see if it has one or two pipes on it.
