VCCA Home Forums GENERAL DISCUSSION Meets, Tours & Events info on the big 2011 Flint meet

I am looking for info on the 2011 meet in flint. I see the dates are july 17 thru 23rd, I was hoping to get more details. What hotels are nearby? Has the VCCA set up any discounts with local hotels for members? At what location will the meet be held? I have heard the swap meet will only be held for a couple days and not all week? Is that true? Why would it not run the whole show? If it is not the whole show, what days will it be? Will cars be displayed all week or only for the judging? Are there any banquets or dinners we need to sign up and or pay for before arrival? I like to plan ahead and want to book rooms and apply for time off work as soon as I can. Any details as far as physical location, hotels, or schedule would be very much appreciated.

The details of the 50th Anniversary Meet will be released as soon as they are official. There is currently a signed hotel contract with the 2 host hotels in Flint. The hotels are NOT accepting our reservations yet, so those details will not be released yet. Trust me, that information will be on Chevy Chatter as soon as it is OK to release it.
The National VCCA Board of Directors will be meeting April 23-25, 2010 in Flint, Michigan. After the BOD's meeting, some official information will be released. Obviously the National Board will need to approve many of the details concerning our 50th Anniversary Meet.

Mr Toolman - I'd like to suggest that a separate Forum sub-topic be created for the 2011 Anniversary Meet. This would keep all info in one easy to find area.

PS it was great seeing you a few weeks ago. Wanted to spend more time talking but you were quite busy making money for the trip to Flint !!

I like the idea of a separate forum in the VCCA Member's Only area to give all of the details concerning Flint in 2011. I will email the Webmaster about this.
