Today I discovered there was no spark to the cylinders. When I pulled the "cap" off the coil I discovered the wire had broken apart right where it comes out of the cable at the cap. Is there a way to repair this? Or do I need a new ignition, cable, and coil cap? It looks like these are all a one piece unit. And where can I find one of these?

I went ahead and soldered a new wire where the old one broke but evidently there is/was insulation between it and the sheathing that I cannot see. When I tried to start it it shorted at that point and smoked pretty good. So I guess I will wait till someone with more experience than I can suggest what I need to do.

Tiny,
First of all thanks for the reply. My email is youngfalcon@earthlink.net. Any help will be appreciated. And I will go add my email in my profile. I thought it was there.

Well, thanks to Tiny and Skip the '34 electrolock is back in service with a new 12 gauge wire. I had no idea that this could be repaired. It was a bit of a pain but with the excellent directions from these two Guys the job is done.

Now I don't have one right now but.... I have been keeping my eyes open for a pre-war coupe to restore. If I had the same problem I'd probably never be able to find this post again, search never has worked well for me. So if this wasn't a 10 page dis·ser·ta·tion I'd like to hear what your combined cures are. Maybe you could post it to the group???? Always looking for new ideas for the reference file. Thanks DG
