On one of the last loads of parts taken from my in-law's house to mine I have a Delco-Remy generator with the following number on the tag: 1102737 2A11

It appears to have been rebuilt and never used. I'm curious what model year it was used. Also what would be a reasonable amount to expect to sell it for? Unless it is the correct one for my '34, I won't be needing it.

Its listed in the parts book as being for a 1940-1948 Chevrolet.

In my Canadian book it also lists 1949-1950 Canadian built Pontiac.
But, this book only starts at 1949 so it may fit earlier model Canadian built Pontiac as well.

Guys, thanks for your replies. As a newbie I am still learning how to use my parts book (1929 - 1942). I looked carefully and did not find the numbers I gave you. I do see the number 1102667 (generator assembly) for a 1940-42. Am I missing something or did that number come later than my book?

I can tell you that 1102667 and 1102737 both go to the same number in my cross reference.

1102667 was originally the number for a 1940 and up generator. Sometime in the later '40's the number changed to 1102737. I didn't take the time to search the parts books to see when the change took place but there was no change in the generator of any importance.
In the early 1950's the number changed to 1102818 (in the parts books) and the generator fit 1940-1951 (with standard 35 amp generator.).Actually the 1102737 would work on the'50's also.

Youngfalcon,
Would you be interested in selling the generator? If so, you can send me a PM at jrudy@vhcc.edu.

I had a generator like this in my 36 until bushings and armature wore out. It charged well up until that point. I have an rebuilt original 36 three brush in my Chevrolet now, but it either overcharges or doesn't keep up with the headlights (especially if have the heater motor going as well...). This generator will bolt right up with a slightly lengthened mount (I still have it)and addition of a voltage regulator.

Thanks!
