Factory, with the adjustment on the bottom which screws in and out...The new bearing kit came with spring and a small collar..if the collar goes on after the spring and you tighten down the wheel the collar keeps the spring from moving(the collar is tight to the steering shaft..Is this correct? On or off it doesn't seem to matter The Mast is the correct distance per manual but I still can not get a good ground (beep) when pushing the horn ring

You got a shock from 6 volts? Sounds like something else is going on there. As you know the wire that runs up from the mast is simply grounding when you hit the ring. That ground triggers the relay. I don't know how you can get a 6volt shock from something like that. If that were the case you would get a shock each time you lean on the car while putting on the battery cable. The horn ring is the worst one to monkey with. They are quite sensitive.

I didn't replace the whole wire in the mast just re-soldered it.Maybe replacement would be a good idea?I also can get a shock when contacting bear metal to the top of the bearing and steering shaft???

Just for grins put your volt meter to the wire, and then to ground. Then put your meter to the mast and to ground. The first should be 6v and the second should be 0. Now put your ohm meter to the mast and ground, it should be very low resistance.

I found success by moving the mast a bit further up then the Manuel recommends..I also found that there was a little paint on spring/wheel contact point...Success at last
