what is the best battery to put on a 1986 monte carlo 5ltr as I am having trouble getting one as I live in the UK, or can I convert the leads so they have post clips on instead of the front screw in type

there is no reason you shouldn't be able to switch to a top post battery providing there is sufficient hood clearance.

Just be careful! I have seen what a battery short on a hood will do. Guy slammed the hood down on a battery that was too tall and I saw it blow a whole in the hood and explode into many bits.

We told him it would not fit, but he didn't listen.
