Just had my 56 Chevy 265 V8 motor rebuilt and the guy that did said it wasn't necessary to retorque the heads after the first start up and run. I always thought this was needed. Can anyone comment on this?? Thanks, Ray

The original steel head gaskets used in the 8 cyl did not require re-tourquing and the modern gaskets do not require it also.
