My 37 p/u has a 57 235 and when I built it I wired it up with a internal regulator alternator, now that I am making it look like a old shop truck and made the 235 look more like a 216 I need to have a generator for the period correct look. The truck does not have many things to draw alot of power and has only a radio, lights and turnsignals and might get halogen headlights so I was planning on finding a generator of a buick or caddy so how do I wire up a generator. I usually disconnect them and add a alternator so where can I get a diagram for a generator. Jeff

Well I should of looked in my library before posting as I found a manual with a wiring diagram and it looks too simple,I found a diagram for a 53 olds and it goes F terminal on the generator goes to the F terminal on the regulator and the A terminal on the generator goes to the G terminal on the regulator and the B terminal on the regulator looks to be hooked to a constant 12 volt source that ends up at the solenoid. So it looks like there is no activation from the ignition switch or idiot light like on a alternator?. Jeff
