ADVANCE NOTICE --- Sometime in the next three or four days before Christmas, I will be moving Chat to a new server. This is the only way that I can get the core server software upgraded so that we get our SEARCH function back again. I have opened a new account as of today 12/20. Once I have the permissions, I will be organizing the layout and testing the "move" capabilities. Then, I will have to SHUT DOWN Chat for a few hours (maybe as many as 6 or 8 hours) in order to move us to the new server. I'll post a message as soon as I decide when I can do it. More than likely I'll begin the process in the evening (Pacific time). Then, just to make it interesting, I'll also be moving the club website ( http://vcca.org) over to the new server too at a later date.. but you won't probably notice that since it won't involve an outage.

I have begun to move files to the new server... Sometime tonight, Saturday or Sunday you may see an outage of http://vcca.org or https://vccachat.org.Please don't send me an email or a PM!!! I'm aware of it, and will be causing it to happen!

Okay, you're good for a couple of days... This was too complicated for me to begin it last night... I'm going from a Linux server to a Windows one. And our database if over 250 Megs in size...
I'll try it again probably Thursday or Friday now.... Again, be prepared for the Chat site to be down for a few hours when it happens... worst case 24 hours.
I'll be adding a new feature to the club's homepage later this week. I'll let you know when.

Going to try again.... Sometime today, I will try to switch to our new host.. During this time, we will be OFF-LINE... for as long as 2 to 3 hours.
This will occur on almost no notice... I'm dependant upon help being available from the company.

Well it only took over 14 hours to get the Chat database moved over and installed... (If you're a techie, we went from a Linux server to a Windows server. That will give you some idea of the issues that I was fighting with.)
I still don't have all of the look-and-feel fixed yet, but it's getting awfully late and I need to get to bed.
I'll pick it up tomorrow... Should have it all straightened out by the weekend.
