Trying to find out if a '59 283 4-Barrel Air Cleaner interchanges with any other years.
Any info would be apppreciated.

59-61 both 283 and low perf 348 use the same unit part number 1553997

All 1959-61 with 4 barrels are the same, 283 or 348.

Gene,
Sorry, but I think you forgot the 348 Special High Perf Four Barrel. This was the Carter AFB on the 320 and the 340 HP 348's and it is not the same it is a dual snorkle same as the 360 and 380 HP 409. Not common but I own a 340 HP 60 Impala

Bill,
The upper half is also the same on the two barrel cars, the lower half (base) you could use for several years with the flat snorkel air cleaner. I will check tommorow but i think it will be the same up through at least 64
