We be checking out and departing to the Wood Tour and North West Meet, both in Yakima, WA, and continuing on to Bozeman Montana, for the National Pre-29 Meet. Looking forward to visiting several of you on the various stops.

The morning started off with a change to the name of the tour. We now have an opening tour called: Wood/Iron/Plastic Tour. This allowed the 4-cylinders, the 6-8 cylinders and Corvettes to participate. Didn't turn out too bad as they were broken into their appropriate groups and sent out at different times.

The tour was just shy of 109 miles. Included a period type diner for lunch, an old settlers cabin and home, and a visit to an EX Chevrolet Dealer. Lots of outstanding cars and topped by what has to be the best restored 1919 Model "T" truck in the world. (Yep, I restored some of the items on the truck).

Tomorrow is the official start of the North West Meet. Hope they don't change the name on me again.

Several of the chat personnel or on the site.

More later,

Agrin devil

It sounds to me, from what I have heard, that there is a large turn out for your Northwest meet, and you are having fun!
That is what really drives the Club , good events and meeting new friends and visiting with your old friends that we only see when we attend these meets.

They kept us so busy yesterday I didn't get to make a posting.

Judges meeting, Ladies luncheon and 5 mini-tours. Group pick nick in the RV park and then back for root-beer floats and lots of visiting and tire kicking.

Today started with a long tour that brought us to the judging and show field. Rest of the morning was for judging and tractor rides through the many acre farm and equipment display. Taco lunch followed by a 40+ mile tour back to the meet headquarters.

Tonight is wine tasting and a buffet around the pool along with many tall tails.

Forgot to mention that our national President {Don Williams} with assistant (Lizzy) have attended all of the meet. They appear to be having a great time and I feel he will make a report when he returns home. Very nice of our President to make an appearance at our meet. We have enjoyed having them both here.

As Ray says, it was a great Meet. Come to think of it, I have never been to a VCCA event that wasn't a great time! and we have been to quite a few of them through the years...

It is very informative to travel to different parts of the Country and have an opportunity to see how things are done in different areas. Of course, all the meets have the same basic DNA - but each area has a slightly different "Club Culture" that makes it unique. Having absolutely perfect weather didn't hurt, either.

The tours are always interesting, and Yakima was no exception. We had the opportunity to ride with different folks and experience different cars. This is actually more fun in some ways than having your own car. I never get tired of riding in a "new" vintage Chevy, and seeing someone's pride and joy.

And of course the best part is to see old friends again, and make new ones.

The folks of Area 3 and the host Region - North Cascade Region - did a great job of organizing and planning. We are grateful for the opportunity to have attended this event.

Two quick photos from the Meet.

The first one is Me and My Better Half competing in a nut-and-bolt screwing contest. We finished at EXACTLY the same time - 2 minutes, 3 seconds. (Yes, I know that there's joke in there.)

[Linked Image from barkerville.net]

The next photo was a "rare" time when my car wouldn't start... We towed it about 50 feet, got it sputtering, then hit the side of the updraft carburetor with a crescent wrench and it smoothed right out.

Thanks to Don Williams for the photos.

I really enjoyed the trip and the Meet, it was our first NW Meet.
The weather was great, cool weather moved in the day we arrived and stayed until we left.it was a long trip, but we got to see some of the country. We wish to thank the NW Meet - The North Cascade Region members for for the memories. Thanks.
