From the HOMEPAGE , you can get all kinds of help.
This includes information on HOW TO POST PHOTOS, as well as HOW DO I SELL PARTS.

Also included are some helpful hints on computer-related issues, including the famous (a) I FORGOT MY PASSWORD, to the ever-popular (b) HOW TO RESET YOUR COOKIE.
This comes in very handy in the rare case that you discover can't log in for some reason.

Again, Welcome to the VCCA CHATTER site!!

Very nice home page that should prove to be a great way to introduce people to VCCA and Chevy Chatter. The club is very fortunate to have such dedicated talent.

hi bill,

this forum's a good addition to our site...are new chat members made aware of it's existence at the time they sign up, or perhaps, even before...I imagine there are many who stop by to take a look at our chatter, but are not sure if they want to register...how are we promoting this forum?..

thanks,

Hello Gentlemen,

If I may, I would like to take some liberty as a first time user before I ask my first question.

Earlier this year I had been thinking about restoring my 1931 special-sedan (Job # 31569 Body # T14197). I shared my thoughts with a coworker who shared with me his current membership copy of the G&D and he suggested that I start by visiting the VCCA website. He also cautioned me by saying that once I’m exposed, I could easily get hooked and become a “Chevrolet Junky”. I discounted his warning and thanked him with a smile.

I visited the website, registered and became a member early last March. I have viewed and read so much valuable information over the last few months that I feel like a kid in a candy shop who is indeed “hooked”! It didn’t take long before I realized that I was not alone.

I would like to acknowledge VCCA and thank the likes of Bill Barker, JunkYardDogJunkYardDog, Chipper, MrMack, AntiqueMechanic and so many more who I should mention for contributing time and expertise to a forum that is available to all. Not only does it help save these vintage contraptions from the “chop shops “ but it also provides a genuine element of comfort that encourages others like myself to take on such a project. You are an inspiration for all of us….Thank you!
\:\) Bob

I think I can speak for all but the Dog. He thinks that he must bark for himself.

Helping preserve and restore old Chevrolets is a big part of what the VCCA is about. Sharing what we have learned over the years gives us as much pleasure as those that receive it. And we really appreciate it when someone compliments or meager efforts.

Welcome to Chevy Chatter Willow! Glad to have you aboard and it sounds like you have a very interesting project! Chippy Dippy could have spoken for me above, but he has never learned or been able to understand "bark bark" for some reason. Must be that Texas air. Anyway, again, welcome to the VCCA!!

welcome from me to....and to repeat myself...here!!

Now please keep in mind I’ve been a member for less than 2 years so this list may be incomplete. However this is how I list the "value {s}” of being a VCCA member.

1. Great Club.
2. Great Magazine.
3. Great Web Site.
4. Informative and entertaining Articles.
5. Back Issues.
6. Magazine help for “how-to” projects
7. On Line Help for “how to” projects.
8. Direct contact help for any project.
9. Free opportunity to sell or buy things on line
10. Free opportunity to sell or buy things in the magazine.
11. Part Numbers & references.
12. Price estimates.
13. Referral's for products, parts or assistance.
14. Manuals for assistance.
15. Direct access to Chevrolet knowledge.
16. 24/7* tech help. {*almost}
17. Hands on support.
18. Judging Standards & Information.
19. Chevy judging events.
20. Car Shows
21. Touring events.
22. Swap Meets.
23. Regional meetings & events
24. National meetings & events.
25. ***
26. International meetings & events.
27. Expert advice.
28. Conversations, both informative & entertaining.
29. Large Club membership standing.
30. National events
31. Regional Events
32. Chance to share knowledge.
33. On-line friends.
34. On-line help.
35. On line chat.
36. On-line reference information.
37. Parts & Prices comparisons.
38. National Connections.
39. International Connections.
40. Expert advice.
41. New relationships.
42. New friends.
43. Fun.
44, Laughs,
45. Entertainment.
46. Car Evaluations.
47. Photographs.
48. Education.
49. Camaraderie.
50. Chance to give back.
51. Free Hot Dogs. If you play your cards right.

Now some may say this list is redundant. But to me this list is short. Because actually there are 100 tangible benefits a person receives from being a VCCA member.

But this list will tell you why 30 bucks is a GREAT value. Possibly the best bang for your buck you will ever get, if you own or want to own a Chevrolet.

This complete thread should be printed in the G&D - would enlighten some of the present members as to what they are missing.

Would need just a little explanation at the beginning concerning B.B.'s original post.

Hi Willow!
You're in luck! Not only is the National a good club to join but you also have a local Region (#11, Southern New England) that meets at Manchester Motor Cars in Manchester, CT once a month (ok,we take the summer off). I'll send you a private message via email.
By the way, several of us are helping out at this Sunday's Crusin' on Main Street in Manchester. With several THOUSAND cars expected they can use all the help they can get. See you there??

Hey long Road, why don't you want to put original mirrors on your Impala? This car is not very old and I'm sure there are original mirrors out there.

The new spell checker will not correct the posting. After the spell checker has corrected the misspelled words, then you have to "cut and paste" to your original posting since this new spell checker will not automatically correct your posting. Bummer!

I copy text from message and paste into MS Word. Use spell/grammer check to get the spelling right and then cut/paste back into the post. Works easy and knows more words than the one used here.

JunkYardDogJunkYardDog is doing it the easy way, Chipper always does it the hard way! But, Chipper does know anti-freeze and a couple of other not so trival things.

Newbie checking in here...
Just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome to this site, I am out in the Old Pueblo and embarking on a restoration of a 37 master deluxe ( long story) and looking forward for sharing stories and ideas of how to do this... especially the companies to use or stay away from.
As i say often I was a dealership mechanic in a former life and had to get a job that could pay the bills so i have tech info as my strong point, i just don't do body work as good.

Thanks again
