I'm looking for a 1954 Bel Air four door sedan - or - convertible.

I'd like a pretty nice car. Pretty much original/stock like. Although I'd be willing to 'listen' about a mechanically modified car. Not interested in any 'custom' body work.

Plain Jane 3 speed or PG. Don't need lots of options. I want to drive it.

Any info appreciated!!

Thnx.

Bill.

I have many parts for a 53 - 54 passenger cars. Mostly chrome trim, Belair wind wings (pictured), axles and many boxes of trim below picture.
I've had to cut up many due to lack of storage space and no one who wanted them.

Email me for more details: .

Backyard Mechanic,
I can rid you of those old 53 - 54 parts and put them to good use, I have (2) 53 Chevy's . One is a 210 4dr Deluxe and the other is a 4 dr Bel Aire sedan.
I really need the Stainless trim for the 210 .

42bill,
The best I can do is let you know there is a sale here in Minnesota on August 13 that has a '54 Belair 2-Door Sedan, 6-cyl., 3-speed.
Also a '57 Chev. 210 Wagon, 265 V-8, 3-Spd. and a '58 Chev. Biscayne 6-cyl., 3-spd. It says Running with titles. About 11 other makes of cars also listed as Running with titles. Four parts cars but no Chevy's.
2 vintage gas pumps: Wayne Model #60 & Tokein #39 {Art Deco style}.
I plan on going to see if anything goes cheap enough so I could buy.

Hey Jerry,

Thanks for the info about the auction in MN. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to make it; but it's always fun to hear about what's going on here-and-there.

A '54 BA 2 dr post with a 3 spd could be a neat car to own and drive.

Thanks again!!

Bill.

You bet, Bill and if I do make it to the sale I'll let you know what condition they were in and what they went for.

Bill I got a kick out of your message’s, and especially your repeat messages.

I know of a 54, 4 door. A guy in my region {So. Ca} has one but I DO NOT know if it's for sale. It is a stock, clean, un-restored car with very few options or accessories and seems to be in very good condition. I believe a few years ago he won some events with it.

Just in case it is for sale, here's his info:
Dick Dennis; 562-421-4101 {Long Beach CA}

Dick is a great guy and please feel free to tell him I gave you his number.

Good Luck
Michael Welch

Hi Michael:

I presume you're talking about Dick's '54 210 blue 4 dr. sedan. I'm very familiar with that car for 20 plus years, if that's the one you're thinking of. Nice car. I wouldn't think he'd be entertaining any thoughts about selling it.

Thanks for the info, Mike. I am, however, quite set on a "Bel Air" rather than a 150 or 210.

Bill.

What do I do? What do I do? Was gonna go to the sale up north and look at the 1954 2dr Bel Air this Saturday and when I looked in our local paper I saw a 1954 chev 4dr 210. Car is original and has 12,036 miles on it. Didn't say if the speedometer turnd over or not. Also has a 1970 chev 2 ton truck. Next page there was a 1950 chev 2dr. You guessed it, both sales are this Saturday also. They are a lot closer and will try to look at them tomorrow and see which sale to attend if it is worth it. I asked a friend who is going up north to jot down the prices those cars go for.

Geez Jerry, those are the kinds of 'problems' I live for. Too many 'fun' things to do and the 'hassle' of having to decide which one to do.

(I think I detect of little of the same feeling in your writing!!!)

The hassles I don't live for are like this weekend. Wifey wants ("us") to 'get away' and go to the beach. Aaaargh!!! Swap Meet to miss. Several cruise-ins to miss. Other auto related activities to miss.

Oh well, what's a 'been married 40 years guy' to do???? Go to the beach, obviously!!

Bill.

......Or, you can tell the wife that she can go to the beach alone because you are going to the swap meet instead!

It doesn't work for me and I'm Polish. Oh, that's right, I'm the one who's Polish and she's GERMAN. I get it now. Would you pay $5,500 for a show car or $3,800 for one in excelent condition? I might have to make up my mind tomorrow.

$5500, unless you can make the excellent into show for less than $1700...

JunkYardDogJunkYardDog, if you don't use a capital 'P' for Polish it becomes something you do to put a shine on your car...polish. LOL

My wife is half Polish/German (depends on who claimed the area and when), half French. Mood swings anyone? More LOL.
