How many registrations were there?
How many Vintage Chevrolets were in attendance?
How many Vintage Chevrolets were judged?
How many HPOCF Chevrolets were there?

Back Roads,

I can only answer question number one with an estimate of around 375.

Perhaps, we will learn the other numbers on Friday at the banquet. I will ask to see if I can find the answers to your other questions.

Back Roads,

There was another post that asked about judging that lists some of the numbers you requested. Below is a link to that post.

Thinks the total registered was closer to 385 than 375 as I stated earlier.

Not everyone brought an older vehicle to the meet, but by Oldie's count, 279 vehicles were listed in the Program.

There were 112 (+ or -) judged, and 24 HPOCF per John's input.

Click here for the judging post.

Accurate registration numbers are known by the Registration Chairpersons and the final numbers should be available as soon as they have a chance to unwind, relax and reflect. The nearly 400 total is approximate as some changes were made at the last minute. People found they could not attend and others were present to take their places. It was a dynamic situation that was managed with concern and compassion. Unbeknownst to people attending many last minute changes were made by the volunteers who made the meet possible. It truly speaks well for the VCCA family.

Very, true old bugle guy, and what goes on behind the scenes was often quite adventuresome and done with a lot of passion for the plight of the member without a ticket or a ride, or whatever, even then I suppose a couple fell thru the cracks, I just hope they weren't too riled up.

Would it be possible to post the awards? It would be nice to see who got what for those who could not attend the awards banquet.

MrMack,

It would be even better if we could have pictures to go along with the award listing! I know - dream on!

I enjoyed the great meet - so much so that I forgot to take all the pictures I wanted to get.

I brought my 87 year old father-in-law to the show in Lincoln Park. He really enjoyed it.

The picture of each car along with its award are listed in the Special Anniversary Meet issue of the G&D.....usually is the Oct and Nov issue combined.

No Gene we did not meet in GJ. I was not there. Saving my time and money for the Central Meet, the VMCCA Grand Indiana Tour, Early Six Cylinder Tour, and the Ohio Region AACA Fall Tour.

Looking forward to seeing you in August or September.

Gene ,if you were asking about chevy50jim, yes you met him, he was doing the Tour departures from Canyon View Park and worked the touring room at times. One of the Colorado hard working guys.

Gene, yes, you and I did meet out in the north parking lot of the DoubleTree where I admired your 1950 that you drove from Wisconsin. Thanks also for the carburetor you sold me.

I have posted photos online that you all can see. They are of the costume contest and car show. Sorry, I did not have time to take more of the car show.

Try this revised link:
http://www1.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=46757780/a=17098910/t_=17098910

Let me know if you cannot see them and I will email the link to you directly.

Best wishes,

Jim

Jim,

When I click on this link, it makes me "join" snapfish, which I did. Then it tells me -

"We're sorry, but the album you're trying to view is no longer available through this URL. Please ask your friend to share the photos again."

Jim,
Good job on the photos.
You might check your spelling of anniversary though.

Cartunman,

Fixed the spelling of anniversary on the captions. The meet was great. I enjoyed it every bit as much as the one in Rapid City.

Best wishes to you all,
Jim

Jim,
Didn't mean to be nit-picky just thought you'd like to know.
It was my first national meet and had a great time.
Met some nice folks at the campground and got to tag along to a couple of events. Ended up sitting with the lucky folks from Puget Sound and won $100 from Brothers at the awards dinner. I was invited to go to a couple of meets next year. More incentive to get the old truck done!
Thanks to all my new friends for making it one of my greatest experiences!

For those that don't know. Tom arrived at GJ without really understanding what was happening and what the VCCA family is all about. Despite that he volunteered to help with what ever needed done. By my observation he was a real asset and his contributions appreciated by many who attended. It is people like Tom that make the VCCA what it is. Thanks Tom and all those others that contributed to the 45th Meet.
